After two short months travelling through the beautiful landscapes of Peru, Bolivia, and Chile it was time to say goodbye to some amazing things included but not limited to the following:
1. Sopa before every main meal. We were never big soup fans or I just really hadn't given it much of a chance but Latin Americans make a huge variety of great hot fresh soup as an entree before every main.
2. Some of the cute toddlers who seem to follow us, grab onto my leg or push me out of a store determined for me not to buy anything.
3. Peckish, hungry? On every street corner you can find llama sticks, salchipapas, empanadas, saltenas, fried chicken, burgers and hot dogs all for a mere dollar.

4. I know there seems to be a theme of food on here and I have also blogged about how bad the food has been on the trip but I can't write this list and not mention the juices. Whether its freshly squeezed orange juice on the corner of a street or the delicious smoothies and massive fruit salads available in the markets- the juices can't be missed. Although we do have a bad memory of one particular banana smoothie which we think we got sick from I would love to enjoy another huge serving of freshly cut fruit salad for only $1.50.
5. The amazing scenery and variety of landscapes from thick lush jungle and massive rapid moving rivers to freezing
cold altiplanos surrounded on all side by mountains and volcanos to ancient lost cities, wide and wild beaches and giant sand dunes in the hot desert.
6. Seeing little old ladies wrap up kids or large sacks of fruit and other food, which must weigh well over 35kgs, and throw them over their should before continuing on walking, working, eating etc. The strength of these women is amazing.
7. Being able to take part in a range of adventures from downright dangerous to more sedate activities for crazy cheap prices. Then thanking our lucky stars for coming out on the other side ok especially those activities where our insurance definitely didn't cover us (which was most of them).
8. Challenging ourselves in new environments, strange situations and trying to communicate in a foreign language.
9. Meeting fellow intrepid backpackers, sharing crazy stories over a cervesa or two and swapping travel tips.
10. There are many great other great memories and things but for the purpose of this list I have kept it to ten. Last but definitely not least are those moments when we are not doing much but we sit back and are just able to reflect and go "wow" look where we are, appreciating our life and journey together so far.
