Bolivia
Bolivia, one of the cheapest South American countries to backpack around, full of adventurous activities, animals and bus trips that can potentially kill us. Sure, why not? Lets do it! Originally thinking we would be here maybe a month we have already had to extend our visa and if we were able to change our flights we would probably be here another month.
It also means it has been a month since I have seen the ocean! Not sure if I have ever gone this long without seeing a beach before but I am enjoying all the history, cultures, activities (not the food though!) that Bolivia has to offer.

Peru
25th May! Finally it was time to say hasta luego Australia and hola to South America- first stop Lima, Peru.
With only two months in South America before we head of to Hong Kong and Europe we have had to narrow down the countries we want to see. We plan on coming back for the Olympics in Brazil 2016 so our initial aim is to limit our travel to the southern parts better known as the gringo trail in Peru then hopefully spend a month in Bolivia and a few weeks in either Argentina or Chile before flying out. Join us well we beat the well-trodden path from Lima.

Chile
Chile- where we began and end our first Latin America trip. As we spent so long in Bolivia our time in Chile was short as we rushed down from San Pedro in the north to Santiago in central Chile. Originally we wanted to come down the foot of the Andes on the Argentina side to taste some of Argentina's famous steaks and visit some local wineries. Fear of being stuck on the Argentina side for a few days due to the roads over the Andes being closed and missing out flight led us to wanting to cross the Andes sooner rather than later. In a little over a week we were still able to enjoy some good food and wines from Chile, smell the ocean again, see some spectacular landscapes and relax in some nice towns.
